The Dew Drop (1849)

The Dew Drop was a Brigantine type of cargo sailing ship built in 1833 in Newfoundland.  It not only carried cargo and people across the Atlantic Ocean, it also made the voyage all the way to Australia and was then used to transport livestock from Port Albert in Victoria to Hobart in Tasmania.

The Blackbird (1878)

The Blackbird was a collier steamship built in 1863 in Newcastle, NSW to transport coal to the developing cities in Victoria.  It ran aground in 1878 on Colonmel Island, but the crew was rescued by the heroic efforts of Willie and Louis Smith, aged 13 and 16 respectively!
